Invited to share what was working

While the field compared approaches, ZEN's students were already building.

During AI Pioneer's second year, Booz Allen Hamilton invited ZEN AI Co. founder Alex Leschik to multiple AI literacy curriculum-sharing sessions. The first followed a Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington gathering recognizing ZEN's early work and brought participants from Booz Allen's AI teams into the discussion from multiple locations.

The conversation surfaced a practical gap: familiar, explanation-first approaches had not created durable AI literacy for learners ages 11 through 18. ZEN brought a different standard—students should design, build, and launch apps, components, and working demonstrations they can explain.
